An Analysis of Students’ Speaking Anxiety in English Classroom at SMAN 2 Siak Hulu

Many foreign language students are apprehensive about learning a new in certain situation. When they asked to express their thoughts front of peers and lecturers, appear become more anxious. Then, when talk English, never feel completely at ease. Consequently, the aim this research is determine level student speaking anxiety dominant type that occurs English classroom. This was conducted by using descriptive quantitative study. The participants were third-grade SMAN 2 Siak Hulu academic year 2020/2021. total 34 students. researchers obtained data through questionnaires. result showed most experienced Mildly Anxious. Additionally, based on FLCAS, there 3 types classroom negative evaluation, followed test communication apprehension. In case, found “Communication Apprehension” main factor causing around 27 (79%) nervous, 23 (68% with “Fear Negative Evaluation” factors, lowest for 22 (65%) “Test Anxiety”.
